My two favorite things in this world are probably checking things off lists and admiring paper goods, which is why our April giveaway is so fantastic. Without further ado, please click here to download the Beautiful Things Spring Cleaning Checklist!

If I’m being honest, spring cleaning is something that I certainly want to get done, and enjoy immensely when it’s complete, but I struggle to find the time to actually do it every year. This year I got lucky – since we’re moving, I’ve been forced to clean out every little thing. Of course that means the enjoying part will be done by the next tenant but hey, that’s good karma right?

In a typical year I could certainly use some help finding the time to get it all done, so here are a few tips to help you fit spring cleaning into your spring plans.

1. Block off a weekend and go to town.

Enlist your roommate/spouse/significant other and get down and dirty. Split up the tasks or rooms on the checklist and kill it! Reward yourself with a delicious dinner out on the town, or my recommendation – order in and watch Season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix.

2. Tackle one room at a time.

If you don’t have a whole day or weekend of free time in your schedule, go through the checklist one room at a time. Add it to your Google Calendar so you don’t forget, and spend a half an hour or so before or after work to beautify each room on the list. This method will spread out that feeling of accomplishment (and Kimmy Schmidt) over a few weeks!

3. Or tackle one task at a time.

Alternatively, you could really get into a groove and spend one session on each type of task, such as washing all the windows, cleaning all the floors, or dusting everything all at once. The only danger in this is you might end up with a whole day of your least favorite task!

4. If all else fails, hire some help.

You don’t have to do it all yourself! Depending on where you live, there are probably some great and affordable maid services that can help you do the hardest things yourself, like cleaning your oven or inside of the dishwasher. Plus they are pros and will get it done a lot faster than you!

Good luck with your cleaning and enjoy that lovely weather friends!
